The Contiweb Variable Coater and Screen Truepress

Route 1 Print, the UK’s largest online trade printer, has invested in a Contiweb Digital Fluid Applicator and Variable Coater to further strengthen its book and booklet production capabilities at its 300,000 sq ft facility in Rotherham.
The equipment complements the company's SCREEN Truepress JET 560HDX, installed earlier this year as the first of its kind in the UK.

The investment will help Route 1 Print continue to support growing reseller demand for high quality books and booklets, with greater production efficiency, faster turnaround times and flexibility across short and long production runs.
The latest additions build on the company's already extensive booklet production capabilities, including Müller Martini Prinova Digital saddle stitchers for stapled booklets, a Horizon BQ-500 perfect binder and a Renz Inline 500 for wiro binding.

Together, these investments further strengthen Route 1 Print's position as a leading trade supplier of stapled, perfect bound and wiro bound books and booklets, offering resellers a comprehensive product range at competitive trade prices and fast turnarounds.

The Contiweb Digital Fluid Applicator helps maintain paper stability during finishing, while the Variable Coater applies a protective coating to improve the durability and appearance of printed products. Both help maintain consistent quality and reduce interruptions during production.

Working alongside the Contiweb equipment, the SCREEN Truepress JET 560HDX delivers 1,200 dpi print resolution at speeds of up to 150 metres per minute. 

The combined technology is already improving print quality, consistency and production efficiency, supporting faster turnaround times across a wide range of book and booklet orders.
