BakPac Installs Seventh Pouchmaker

BakPac has installed its seventh pouchmaker at its UK production facility, strengthening its ability to deliver high volume flexible packaging alongside complex, multi-job production demands.

The installation forms part of a wider optimisation strategy, with BakPac now operating five advanced Galaxy pouchmakers, supported by two HP Indigo 200K digital presses, following the phased removal of earlier generation equipment.

Scaling Without Compromise

The latest installation - BakPac’s sixth Galaxy press - replaces its original Galaxy pouchmaker from September 2023 and brings all pouch converting equipment to a consistent, high performance specification.

This standardisation means any pouchmaker can now run any job, removing previous production constraints and enabling greater flexibility across the entire operation.

BakPac Production Supervisor Harvey Dailly commented:

“By upgrading, we’ve brought all our pouchmakers to the same standard. That gives us the flexibility to run any job on any machine, which makes a big difference to how we plan production and deliver for our customers.”

Performance That Reflects the Model

The impact of this approach is already being delivered.

In the first three months of 2026, BakPac has produced over 12 million pouches across more than 500 individual jobs, demonstrating its ability to combine scale with agility.

Production runs range from 500 pouches through to hundreds of thousands, allowing BakPac to support:

Co-packers managing multiple SKUs
Brands with varied product ranges
Fillers requiring fast, responsive supply
Start-up and disruptor brands gain a strong foothold in the market

Built for Modern Manufacturing Demands

BakPac’s production model is designed around the realities of today’s supply chains, where demand is increasing for shorter runs, faster turnaround, and greater product variation.

Harry Baker, BakPac Sales and Operations, added:

“The industry often treats scale and flexibility as a trade off. We don’t. Installing our seventh pouchmaker is about building a system where both exist together. Delivering over 12 million pouches across 500+ jobs in just three months shows what that looks like in practice.”

By aligning its pouch converting capability and integrating digital print technology, the company is able to handle high job complexity without sacrificing efficiency or output.

Strengthening UK Based Supply

With production based in the UK, BakPac is well positioned to support businesses looking for:

Reduced lead times
Greater supply chain resilience
More responsive manufacturing partners

This latest investment reinforces BakPac’s position as a UK based manufacturer combining scale, agility, and responsiveness in modern flexible packaging production.
