Antalis Packaging Strengthens Smart Packaging Centre With New Cad Technician Appointment
Antalis Packaging has appointed Myles Hollis as CAD Technician at its Smart Packaging Centre (SPC), strengthening its packaging design and development capabilities and helping customers create practical, accurate, production ready packaging solutions.
Myles joins Antalis Packaging with design qualifications and training in Impact CAD software, bringing a strong foundation in computer aided design to his new role.
Based at the Antalis Smart Packaging Centre (SPC) in Leicestershire, Myles will focus on packaging design and CAD development, turning customer requirements into accurate packaging designs that can progress through development and ultimately into production.
The SPC provides customers with access to packaging design expertise and technical support, helping them develop new or review existing packaging solutions tailored to their individual products, supply chains and requirements.
A typical project begins with working with the customer to understand their requirements, including factors such as product dimensions and weight, protection requirements, transportation, branding, sustainability and production considerations.
Myles will then use CAD to develop and refine designs, helping customers visualise and test solutions before they move into production.
Myles said: “I’m looking forward to working on projects where there is an opportunity to solve a problem or improve and challenge an existing packaging solution. I enjoy finding a design that is not only visually appealing but also practical, efficient and fit for purpose”.
“My role is about helping customers find packaging solutions that are efficient, cost effective, practical and commercially viable, while also considering areas such as sustainability and material type and usage.”
Jason Poxon, Head of Design at Antalis Packaging commented: “Myles’ appointment further enhances the technical expertise available through our Antalis Smart Packaging Centre. CAD plays an important role in modern packaging development, enabling us to collaborate with our clients to create and refine digital designs before a physical solution goes into production. This can help identify potential issues earlier in the process and support more efficient material use.”
