A New Acquisition For WBC

Wine Box Company (a subsidiary of Premier Paper Group Limited) has acquired the speciality packaging business Sarcina Packaging.

Established in 2014, Sarcina provides custom made solutions to a wide range of sectors including bakery, pet food, pharmaceutical, health and beauty, farming, e-commerce, automotive and food and beverage retail brands.
The acquisition by WBC is complimentary to the Group’s existing business and further expands both the expertise and capacity across the packaging division.

Michael Beever, CEO of Premier Paper says: “We are delighted to welcome Sarcina into the group and are excited to be supporting them in the next phase of their development. Sarcina will be a valuable addition to the WBC business, which we acquired in 2022, and is another step in our strategy to expand our packaging offering across the Group. Premier, WBC and Sarcina have many of the same values, and this acquisition will provide opportunities for all parts of the company to develop product and service offerings through the sharing of knowledge and expertise.”

Managing Director for WBC, Simon Wright, says: “The acquisition of Sarcina further increases the Group’s capabilities to provide solution driven, bespoke packaging to our customers which further enhances their brands. I believe that the addition of the Sarcina business and the opportunities that this will create will be a great addition to the Group as we deliver against our growth plan within the packaging division”

Sarcina Managing Director, Mark Judson adds: “Becoming part of the WBC and Premier Paper family marks an exciting new chapter for Sarcina Packaging. This evolution enables us to offer access to an even wider range of products and services, market-leading innovations and enhanced value — all underpinned by the same first-class customer service you’ve come to expect”.

Sarcina has an excellent reputation and strong brand equity within its market sectors and will remain as part of WBC. Mark Judson, in addition to continuing to drive the Sarcina business forward, will take on a new Group role as the Commercial Director for Packaging to help facilitate future growth. The Sarcina offices and warehouse will relocate to WBC in Herne Hill and Crawley respectively.

Premier Paper had consolidated group turnover of £285m in 2024 and is a leading supplier of paper, packaging and materials to the UK market. In turn, Premier is part of OVOL Japan Pulp & Paper Co.Ltd., a global company that operates in 21 countries with a turnover of over $3bn.
