Fastback bound for Duplo - September QPP Cover Story

Duplo International has secured the UK distributorship for the internationally applauded Fastback range of binding machines. Made in the USA, these easy to use table top machines bind loose sheets into presentable documents using thermally activated binding strips. The technology is more than three times faster than a conventional punch and bind system, documents lay completely flat, are suitable for posting and at the end of their useful life the bound documents are fully recyclable.

The agreement commenced on 13th August and will see Duplo stocking the full range of machines and consumables. The company is planning to utilise its highly successful dealer channel to get the products into the market. Tony Lock, UK Managing Director at Duplo explained, "Our dealers have a fantastic record of delivering our products to market. Over the last few years they have installed hundreds of IDEAL guillotines into print rooms across the country and I believe this product has an even bigger potential."

Fastback binding machines accept patented Fastback binding strips. They are made of different materials and come in 16 eye catching colours. In addition, customers can order strips branded with their own graphics, images and logos to make their documents really stand out.

For clients looking to add durability and real prestige to their documents, the Fastback machines can even produce paperback and publisher quality hardcover books. Duplo believe this solution is ideal for small digital printers looking to get into the dissertation, photobook or self-publishing market without a large investment.

As Tony Lock points out, "For an outlay of just a few thousand pounds, printers can buy a system that will easily pay for itself within a matter of months. Not only that but the return on investment is potentially limitless." he continued, "The synergy with the rest of our range couldn't be stronger. Like all Duplo products, the Fastback machines are highly automated with binding at the touch of a button. We are delighted to have secured this deal and look forward to bringing it to market."

Copy deadline for next months hard copy magazine is Tuesday 21st August.
