Canon launches two 44 inch colour printers for the CAD/GIS and Production markets

Canon UK has two new 44 inch high-speed colour production large format printers, the imagePROGRAF iPF815 and iPF825.The two new five colour devices are updated models to the iPF810 and iPF820, and will continue to deliver large format prints of outstanding quality and vivid colours at high print speeds. The addition of various new features will particularly benefit users in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction, Mechanical CAD , Electronic Design Automation, Geographical Information Systems and Point of Sale markets.A new accounting and cost tracking software is a powerful feature used for accurate management of job logs and other information that allows users to collect print job data and calculate print costs. The built-in Economy Print Mode is ideal for quick check plots and proofs and helps to lower the overall cost of production and reduce ink consumption. The introduction of the administrator mode brings increased security, control and efficiency in networked environments and both printers are equipped with up to 29 password protected user inboxes. The 160GB hard disk gives double the storage space of previous models, together with a secure erase utility. The iPF815 and iPF825 also features a 32GB memory, compared to 3GB with the previous models, making it possible to process large print jobs even more efficiently.Gill Mussell, LFP Product Manager, Canon UK said; "Canon has been tremendously successful in the CAD and GIS market with the 24" and 36" imagePROGRAF models, so the 44" version is a natural extension of our family of LFP solutions for this sector. The iPF815 and iPF825 have been designed with some of the most advanced hardware features on the market. We are confident they will increase our market share in the CAD and GIS sector by providing the fastest print speeds and greatest accuracy to users who demand the highest detail in their architectural plans and blueprints."The 44 inch printers deliver exceptional line reproduction, with a minimum line width of 0.02mm and true 1,200dpi high resolution printing. Both models are capable of printing a full density A1 sized colour plot in 24 seconds and up to 120 A1 sized plots per hour. A0 sized plots print in 45 seconds.           The dual media roll on the iPF825 supports even greater productivity and flexibility allowing two rolls of the same or different media. The large printing area has a minimal 3mm border, and with glossy/semi-glossy paper borderless printing up to 42 inches is possible. This saves time on finishing, and a self driven rotary blade cutter that starts as soon as the print is finished enables faster throughput. To further boost productivity, 'Hot Swap' high capacity ink tanks can be changed without interrupting a print job. The models are equipped with 330ml or 700ml pigment-based Matte Black cartridges and dye-based Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges. The imagePROGRAF iPF815 and iPF825 will be available in the UK & Ireland from November 2010.www.canon.co.uk
